Roll-back netplay · arcade hardware

The cabinets we actually play, on the boards that ran them.

left4rcade runs arcade machines on your own machine and plays them over the internet with frame-locked roll-back netplay. This page lists the games this build knows, and points at the lobby's own ranking and replay pages for each one.

How a match happens

  1. Get the client

The lobby states the build it is pointing testers at, and the client asks it the same question when it boots: https://play.left4rcade.com/clientbuild. There is no download behind a button here, because nothing swaps a client's own folder over a plain socket.

  2. Pick a cabinet

Channels are per game. Join one, and the seat boots that set on its own hardware preset — no per-game configuration file exists to disagree with.

  3. Play, and leave a recording

Each console writes the match itself and states what it wrote when the match closes, so a game played here is a game that can be watched again on that game's replay page.

The count is the shipped binary's own -list-games answer, projected into server/assets/identity.json by tools/identity_table.py. Working is a field of that table and never a filter: the lobby offers a set, this page features a game.
